The Lasallian Festival is one of the events that I definitely look forward to (in the university). It takes place usually on Valentine’s week but due to the shift in the academic calendar, it is celebrated from the 27th of February until the 4th of March instead. According to the DLSU-D website, it “seeks to highlight the community’s response to the 2008 Philippine Lasallian Family Convocation to all the District schools to “institutionalize the celebration of the Lasallian Mission.” The week-long celebration features programs and activities which aim to deepen and instill the Lasallian Core Values of faith, zeal in service and communion in mission.
There are a LOT of things to anticipate during the LSF–no classes (on almost all subjects), programs which serve as alternative classes, the opening of the bazaar and *clears throat* wearing civilian clothes the whole week. This week also marks my post-chickenpox return to school. Isn’t it amazing? But wait, didn’t I miss friggin’ 5 prelim exams? Yes, I did and the LSF served as a ‘catch up’ time for me and the scantron sheets–talk about perfect timing. What a way to end February and welcome March, right? I enjoyed this year’s LSF and I’m sharing my 2nd LSF experience with you, through this entry. Happy scrolling!
Okay. So before you start reading this blog entry, here’s a quick story. After celebrating Valentine’s the entire week (yes, I made it happen), I had chicken pox. *frowns* As of writing, I’m taking some time off of school to recuperate from this illness–perfect timing, the prelim has just begun (and so as this chicken pox). Disclaimer: I have zero idea on how I got this–no one from the fam or the squad had this skin disease recently. I’m starting to hate February for this apparent reason (getting sick); it never fails to ruin things. But looking on the brighter side of things, I got to spend this year’s V-Day with the one[s] I love!
I have planned this–my dream V-Day celeb–for a long time already and though some things didn’t turn out as planned, I’m glad with the way everything drove out in general. Damang dama ko ang simoy ng pag-ibig, mga bes! I enjoyed every single moment of the week and I feel privileged to have spent the Hearts Day sharing love with the best people in town. Plus, this year saw the light for my first ever (legit but not so legal) valentine date–though it wasn’t exactly a date. Tamis! Let’s just say that I celebrated love the way it is supposed to be rejoiced. But for now, it’s time for me to do a recap of how the previous week went. #HappyHeartsDay
AYO! By God’s grace, I am healed (from chickenpox). Thank you for your prayers and well wishes. #deeplyappreciated I had a really speedy period of recovery–missed only a total of 3 school days; didn’t experience worse symptoms (aside from intense itch and mild fever). I feel glad to return to school after a week in time for the Lasallian Festival which took place from the 27th until the 4th of March (and I can’t wait to write an entry about how the week went). So with that being said, here’s another volume of your fave segment here on my blog. Welcome to ATM with Bryan!
Happy March everyone! A lot of friends and resounding names are born on this month. March babies, you know what to do! Anyway, I’m opening this month with this very entry that you’re reading since I didn’t get the chance to write one during the previous month (blame it on Valentine Week, Prelim/Chickenpox Week and Lasallian Festival for consuming majority of my time). In fact, I missed a lot of things–haven’t updated my planner, been sleep deprived for a week now and put reading (of novels) into a halt. Hoping to get the time to catch up on the things that I miss but for now, I’m giving you a list of my at the moments. 😊
Hi y’all! I just got back from Manila 2 days ago (as of writing) and it feels great to be home. If you follow me on my social media accounts, you might have been hinted that I went to Solaire–an established hotel in the Metro–with my college friends. I haven’t posted much about the trip yet–aside from tweeting a few photos or updating my story on Instagram or my day on Messenger (well, I uninstalled Snapchat for good)–and it is evenhanded to write about the trip, through this entry obviously. Basically, I went there as a part of Dairen’s birthday celeb (and I am one lucky boy).
Before you read this entry, (I want to share to you that) I was supposed to title this entry with Dairen at 18 | 02 but I made way for the stated label to highlight that this entry is about travel. I’ve been through a couple of hotels already and I have to say that Solaire has given me the best check in experience so far–not to mention that this is a first time for me. #achievementunlocked My friends and I stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights (a luxury in itself) which is just the right time to chill and relax before a new semester begins. Let’s all revisit our first Solaire escapade in 3… 2… 1.
1st semester of sophomore year ended mid December and the 2nd semester is scheduled to begin late January (a long term break it is, right?). But before the end of the year, we were informed that our block will the taking the TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) on the 11th of the following month–landing exactly on Dairen’s birthday. I was (sort of) expecting ‘us’–our squad–to either eat lunch together or stay at someone’s place to see a movie as a mini celebration but the thing is, I have some matters to attend to after taking the exam.
Dairen is one of my college best buddies. I met her in our Introduction to DLSU-D class before entering the university and we’ve been good friends since then. She is a Mathematics major, knows how to play a LOT of musical instruments and has a collection of different (and unique) sorts of Rubik’s cubes–though some of which are not merely shaped as cubes. Plus, she’s fond of the investigative genre of films and series such as Detective Conan and Sherlock Holmes (I mean, who isn’t a fan?). But her most striking facet is her faith and religion–she is a Christian and she spends weekends mostly on the church. This entry is about her surprise party. #HBDDairen
